Empowering Health: CEO’s Note on World Health Day
Happy World Health Day! World Health Day, established by the World Health Organization (WHO) is celebrated each year on April 7th. We celebrate the invaluable gift of good health and reflect on the importance of prioritizing well-being for everyone, everywhere.
Amidst the challenges we face globally, this day serves as a reminder that health is not merely the absence of illness, but a holistic state of physical, mental, and social well-being. Even though the WHO plans this on a global scale focussing on a specific theme or priority area of public health concern, such as mental health and maternal health too infectious disease etc., I am extremely happy and excited to find the enthusiasm, commitment and eagerness of our team members focussing on a healthy exercise regime. The friendly yet competitive walkathon between everyone in the company as we navigate through these unprecedented times of eating poorly clubbed with deteriorating environments in certain parts of the world. It helps formulate a platform to unite in our commitment to building healthier communities, fostering resilience, and advocating for health equity. Whether it’s promoting vaccination, supporting mental health initiatives, or embracing preventive care, every action counts towards creating a healthier and more equitable world.
During my recent visit to the office in the US, it was so heartwarming to find the team taking the time to go on a walk together. What was even more refreshing was that the initiative was being driven by the young leaders. The eagerness, enthusiasm and smiles on everyone’s faces will be etched in our minds for a long while. The friendly banter and competitiveness of counting the number of steps each week in such an innovative and healthy competition, was so pleasing. There is no winner or loser, just a healthy count. Keep up the great work guys ! Together, let’s pledge to prioritize health, empower individuals, and work towards achieving universal health, because when we invest in health, we invest in a brighter future for generations to come. Happy World Health Day, month, season and year!
