Team Takeaways from 2021

The end of each year is always a great time to reflect on your past, present and future. Your colleagues shared what 2020 meant to them this time last year and we asked those same team members to share their 2021 takeaways as well. It’s amazing to see how much has changed (or stayed the same) over the past 700+ days.

2020: One of my favorite takeaways from 2020 is to make the most out of any situation. During lockdown, I remained positive and tried many new hobbies- pottery, embroidery, cooking, yoga, breathing techniques, etc. Each one of these activities taught me something new about myself. In 2021, I will continue to take time each day to do something I enjoy. Life is too short not to!

2021: 2021 proved to be another challenging year for many of us. At times, I lost sight of what was truly important but I learned a very valuable lesson along the way. Prioritizing yourself is just as paramount as prioritizing your work. It can feel like a balancing act at a circus sometimes, a tight-rope that is nearly impossible to cross. But in 2022, I am making a resolution to dedicate more time in enhancing my knowledge, my skills and my time management abilities, both professionally and in my personal life, so I can be a better me than I was 365 days ago. And I can not wait to continue to #GrowTogether with the rest of my Groupsoft team!

2020: My 2020 has been a roller coaster ride with lots of challenges and surprises. Covid 19 was the biggest surprise. This year I graduated with my Master’s degree in Computer Science in US. I got opportunity to work for two companies this year. I realized positive attitude and handwork is the only way to move ahead in life. I am thankful to my parents , teachers and my mentors for guiding me all along 2020. Let’s hope 2021 will be better and exciting , since vaccine is available for Covid-19 now and US has got a new president. Things will turn around soon. #stayhomestaysafe.

2021: My 2021 has been spectacular with lots of challenges and surprises. Omnicron variant is a surprise to me. I was hoping everything would come to normal by the end of the year. But that is not the case. Omnicron is rising in the Tri-state area, So I request everyone to get the third dose of Covid-19 Vaccine. This year I got promoted from Intern to Associate Consultant. I am very happy about it. This year I also learned how to invest in the stock market and earned some good profit on my investment.

2020: 2020 has been a tough year for the entire humanity. Though the world is still in the grips of terror, we as human kind is making progress. While struck at home, I believe that small wins really matter

2021: What did 2021 mean to you?

From 2020, there are many lessons we’ve learned. Not all of these lessons may have been positive, but they’re valuable. 2021 should be hopeful because of how the market for “sought after skills” is evolving. Never before in the history of humanity has more information been available on the internet to help with upskilling, learning new areas of expertise, and educating yourself on new topics. Did you have any accomplishments or lessons learned that you wanted to share with the team? More options for remote work, new/added accessibility solutions within the workplace, and an increased focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion are all major trends that are taking off this year and will likely continue well beyond 2021. This is a great news for all of us, and definitely something to feel hopeful about!

What is your biggest takeaway?

This year I learned to be flexible because nothing is perfect. I realized I can’t control everything and that’s alright. Most importantly, I will never forget that kindness and positivity from everyone I met.

What are you looking forward to in 2022?

I can feel hopeful about 2022 because we have a lot to offer the world. 2020 and 2021 showed us that our hope isn’t best placed in circumstances outside our control. But, we can rely on our own perseverance, grit, and resilience.

2020: In the middle of uncertainty, fear and anxiety, the year 2020 was the year of new beginnings in my life. This year gave me the opportunity to work on self-improvement and some quality time with the family and parents after so long. The biggest takeaway from this year is take care of your health – physical and mental, stay positive and keep going.

2021: 2021 was another challenging year for humanity across the globe. It was a mixed year on the personal front. On one hand I welcomed my better half into my life and started the next phase of my life while on the dark side, I lost some of my loved ones in the middle of the 2nd wave of COVID this year. Experiences that I witnessed during this year made me stronger, more mature in thinking and I found a better version of myself than in 2020. On the professional side this year was more digitally connected than ever. I explored some new skills, made more connections and grew on my career path. Moving forward in 2022, I would work on my mental and physical fitness while upgrading my professional skill set. Thank you all for being connected, being empathetic and keep growing together. Cheers #StayConnectedStaySafe #GrowTogether #MerryChristmas #HappyNewYear
